Daihatsu Copen is not a car designed to break circuit records, however it is a car designed perfectly for fighting within dense urban areas, utilizing its SMART-esque dimensions, small engine displacement, moderate power and its lightness. All of this absolutely does not mean that the Copen is not suitable for upgrades. In fact that’s quite the opposite, the Copen even has a dedicated HyperRev book in Japan to detail the wide scale of tuning parts available. With Copen tuning spanning the full scale between circuit and VIP styles, the Japanese market seems to be having a lot of fun with their Daihatsu Copens!
This little kei car somehow has won my heart. Check it out, it looks quite decent with 17″ Lowenhart DEF X2 wheels and lowered with Bold World Absolute DS suspension. It has also some other performance mods including Dixcel brake pads, air cleaner and oil catch tank.
The Copen doesn’t get much exposure outside of Japan so I’m curious, what do you all think of this popular Japanese market kei car?
