This car was a car I was involved with for a client Eric. The build was done back in early 2005 and at the time it was one of my favorite project cars I got to be involved with. This car was one of the first big builds I was fortunate enough to be asked to be a part of. I’m guessing you can easily see my influence in the setup of the car. Doing cars like this gave me confidence to do my S2000 years later and started getting Bulletproof known for not just selling parts but for consulting and for building complete cars.

To be honest, looking back I’m a little bit embarrassed by this car because of it’s identity crisis. At the time I was launching Varis USA and wanted to build a demo car for the Varis brand (which this car was intended to be at the beginning), but my client and I both really wanted to build a car in Top Secret gold. So as a result the car carried promotional duties for both Varis and Top Secret USA. I think it looks cool, but if I had a chance to do it again I’d separate the two companies and keep the car more consistent with branding. Plus I would have done a few other things different…alright, maybe a lot of things different. But for 2005 I think it was pretty good.

Its always hard to look back because we all grow. I still remember how proud I was of this car 4 years ago, but I feel that I could do a much better job at building a car like this now that I have the perspective I have.

Either way, I was reminded of this car because I got a really nice piece of fanmail from a guy named Bobby with his rendering of this car for Forza 2. I think its always so cool to see those kinds of emails with people rendering video game versions of cars that I like. Plus its a little ironic since I linked Varis up with Microsoft to do Forza back in the day.
