500 Blog Posts!

Posted by Ben

I’m a bit shocked actually at that number. Going from writing one magazine column a month to one blog post a day (well, almost every day) was something I did not intentionally set out to acheive. In fact, I probably would have never started this blog if the plan was to write this many posts…but 500 posts have gone by fast! Actually its 517 posts at the moment. Thats 517 topics relating to JDM tuning…that sounds like a lot when I think about it!

What is important to me is not the number of posts or the number of topics shared, its the fact that we’ve reached 517 ideas that I WANTED to share. No filler (besides this post perhaps, j/k).

EDIT: I had a comment in here about blogs in general that I think people got the wrong idea about. I’m going to re-write it now. My point was that blogging is essentially the new magazine medium. While some blogs are run like businesses with quotas for their writers and a massive load of posts flowing out to try to capture various interests with sheer quantity, that is not my style. I’m proud of the pace of this blog and that the content is true to my interests which is a great thing that I look for when reading other blogs. As the blog continues to grow, I dont want to get watered down with tons of posts trying to please everyone…I really like trying to make each post mean something and to limit the throw away posts. Quite honestly in this business I’m in daily I have new products that I can press release almost every day. Between Bulletproof, GT-RR, 370Ztune.com and the other sites nearly every day we’re introducing new product that does not end up being a blog post here because it would simply be filler. What I’m proud of is that I could have done 1000 posts by now with hundreds of press releases, shared content from other sites and various other filler to try to win over new blog readers, like a magazine/blog business would. That was the topic on my mind as I was writing the post, yet somehow when I write fast and late at night inevitably someone gets a different interpretation than I intend. END EDIT

This blog represents the interests that I believe in and what makes me proud is that 517 times I’ve stayed true and come up with new ideas to share that I’m proud to put out there. I feel like as long as the blog continues this desired path (each post being something that I believe in and am proud of) that it’ll continue for a long time to come. I’m glad to say that I’m not remotely close to running out of things to share. It wont stop until I get bored with it and for now I’m having a lot of fun meeting new friends and continuing to build the great community we have here.
