VIS sells this R35 GT-R hood for $8000.00. According to the bodykits.com website link it weighs 45lbs.
They also offer a front diffuser and front fenders as well.
Am I the only person who finds this amusing?
On a separate note…
I HOPE GT-R clients are some of the few in the tuning world who are “in the know” and will choose the best products on the market…but I expect to be shocked with what I see at SEMA in November since traditionally it is FREE products that are what dominates SEMA cars rather than GOOD products. We all know that good products don’t need to be given away for free because there is always demand for good…so you know what the results usually are…
The SEMA Show never fails to prove to me new ways US companies can bastardize Japanese tuning. Expect more knockoffs this year from what I’m hearing (unrelated to this post by the way which is not a knockoff product, just a OEM design by VIS).
Most people can never imagine the horror of what I’ve had to do year after year - Showing Japanese tuning company designers and owners around at SEMA as they discover just how many companies are stealing their designs (not “inspired” designs but blatant theft and copy) and knocking off their parts. I’m looking forward to SEMA because of the cars I’m producing for the show this year, but I’m really afraid of what else I’ll see when I get there. I’ve already heard disturbing rumors…
Somehow I always leave SEMA disappointed in the industry and being totally embarrassed for the American tuning scene. It only makes it worse that Japanese tuners come there and see first hand how they’re getting robbed. Somehow I’m permanently in the minority in a world where most people seem to condone knockoffs at SEMA and in the industry and where I become the bad guy for noticing and pointing out the destruction of JDM tuning. Oh well, I cant change so I’ll be the bad guy forever I guess…
