So the inside word I have with Nismo is a little different than the usual information floating around. The word is that Nismo will soon be releasing just 3-4 parts for the R35. Those parts include an exhaust system as well as a very expensive pair of racing bucket seats. Word is the seats will cost approximately 1,500,000 JPY! I suspect these parts will be released in the fall. It looks like Nismo is not going to be releasing any seriously extensive tuning selection anytime soon.

Everyone in Japan is talking about the Vspec version of the R35 GT-R lately. There’s lots of different stories but the two things that I think I can trust at this point is that it’ll be released in Japan in time for Tokyo Auto Salon 2009 (by the end of this year at the latest) and that it’s price will cost roughly 10,000,000 JPY. Also I’ve been hearing from multiple sources that it (or some variants of it) will come with no rear seats. Rays is busy preparing a new wheel for the Vspec which will be even lighter than the current Rays built wheel on the standard GT-R. Power seems to be approx 600ps from multiple sources as well. I suspect there will be a change or major update to the transmission on this model, which may trickle down to the standard spec models as well.
