Many people would argue (and possibly win) that the Advan AO48 is the most dominant road legal time attack tire in Japan. Its legacy can be traced back to multiple generations of the AO series and no doubt that when you’re looking at the top time attack cars in Japan you more often than not will probably be noticing the AO48s that they’re running. Even Lotus has been using the AO48 as an OEM tire on their sportier spec Elises. The tires simply are great (as I reminisce on the AO38s I had on my S2000 back in the day). On top of all of that they have some bad ass looking tread design. Looks the business, no doubt.

So Option Magazine in Japan recently released word of the AO50, an update to the AO48 which has had a very successful run over the past few years. Check the hi res pic below for a more detailed view:
