So I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the creativity of Japanese tuning over the years, but this is a bit controversial. Over the past couple of years I’ve been seeing more and more highly influenced tuning designs that “borrow” heavily from OEM auto maker designs. Case in point is DAMD which released their Black X Metal 350Z kit a year and a half ago. It shocked me then and it still does now. What has shocked me more is their subsequent release of the same type kit for the Miata and the G35 Coupe.
At first I felt impressed by their confidence in pulling it off, but a little confused by mixing Aston Martin designs on Japanese sports cars. I have to say, it’s grown on me and I’m really enjoying it all now. I also have grown to enjoy other “adaptations” of European styling into Japanese vehicles like Pandora’s kits for the Murano and Lexus RX330 as well as ASM’s new Porsche GT3 inspired rear bumper for the S2000.
See for yourself about the DAMD kits below in the photos. If you download the photo, it will save as higher resolution .

I really like that Aston-type grille on the Miata. Do you have any more pics?
